Hi

I am very new to this forum and was looking eagerly into the group builds unfortunatly not many naval builds seem to take place. Would it be possible to get one started? (if so how do we go about it?)

regards

wayfarer

Well 2010 is here, any idea's for things Maritime

A 'Greyhound of the Sea's' Builds ie any destroyer, contenders would be the WW2 destroyer collection, HMS Daring, HMS Devonshire.

Or

A Falkands build. this would include HMS Fearless.

I'm trying to think of a theme here but maybe just a single ship build?

Perhaps an Amphib build - maybe a bit limited in range.

Hey all

I like the idea of a Falklands build.  I've never done a ship before so would be good to start off with a GB.

Kriegsmarine, anyone?  Or, how about a carrier build?  Sailing ships?  Or,  how about adding the Montgomery and St. Albans to the destroyer list?

Already building Kriegsmarine.  Would happily recommend the Airfix set.

Oops.  I meant German Navy in general.

I like the destroyer idea - encompasses 1/400, 1/600 and 1/1200 material (though now I've typed this I find myself doubting if the 1/1200 kits had any destroyers?).

Not that I've had time to start either of the two GBs I've signed up for this year yet...

Sounds like the destroyer option might generate some interest.

Along the lines of any Destroyer Class Ship, from any era in 1/600 or 1/400 (for the Heller reboxes subject must be an Airfix boxing). No requirement to build an entire set ie WW2 Destroyers.

Worth a poll to test interest?

OK, I've started a poll.

Steven - is it a multichoice poll?  And wouldn't the destroyer option also include the 1/400 ones from the Kriegsmarine set?

The poll is single choice. The 1/400 destroyers are included in the destroyers choice.

Kriegsmarine was the winner of the poll. Do we have any volunteers to be the Group Build Leader?

When's the GB going to run Steven?  I feel like perhaps I should take a turn but there are some blocks of time coming up where I'll be away or up to my ears in exam scripts.

Now that my job has slowed down a little, and I've almost finished moving to the new place, I have a couple extra hours in the day. I volunteer to lead this build.
