Nothing too special for me, just doing the Defiant as that's the only nightstalker I have in my wardrobe and not the loft. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

This build is definately going to be finished before the deadline unlike my previous 3 GBs!!
Yesterday I just washed the kit parts and dunked the transparencies in Klear.
I was going to include a photo of the box and some sprue shots but my camera battery had ran out so I couldn't.
Today I have cut most of the major parts off the sprue to see how the fit will be and it seems very good. The only thing I will have to add is a scratch built cockpit floor, otherwise if you look down from the canopy you will be able to see through the whole plane!!.
I've tidied up all the major parts and started to paint the pilot and the prop. Once I've done the floor I can paint the interior and start on the turret. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

I've only painted the interior Hu78 (Cockpit Green) and most of the pilot so far:

I haven't done much work at all on this yet but I started again today. So far I've just done as the post above describes and painted the pilot:
I've also cemented the two halves of the guns together for the rear turret. I'll get these painted and the whole rear turret assembled as quickly as possible so I can join the fuselage haves together.
Due to the simple colour scheme and few parts hopefully this won't take longer than a week and a half. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

I have done some more to this.
All the main parts of the plane are cemented in place. The wing is horribly engineered and required lots of sanding after the parts were cemented to get them looking ok. Then I realised that I'd sanded to much of the area where the flaps would go and now there's a bit of a gap.
Anyway here it is as of this morning:
Not a kit I'd recommend for the faint hearted due to the poor wing design, but it holds up ok when you consider the moulds for this are ancient. Just don't expect it to fall together. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

I've given this 3 coats of Hu33 (matt black). I'll add the canopy and touch up the wheel wells then post some pics. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

Here she is after 3 coats of Hu33 (Matt Black):
I'll put the canopy on as soon as possible and touch up the wheel wellls. Shouldn't be too long before this is finished (less than 10 days hopefully). _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

Lol, yeah think I've missed the boat, and those 10 days seem more like 3 1/2 months!!
I'm just finishing painting the canopy, pics will be up within the next week. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

Here's where I am now:
All the painting has been completed (I will finish the turret at a later date when I have some decal paper to make strips for the framing, it was too complicated to mask with tape or maskol).
A coat of Klear has gone on and I'll put another one on before applying the decals.
Speaking of the decals they're on the borwn backing paper. I last used some like these on my Dornier Do.17 after applying some Decal solution from Microscale and had no worries. I've done the same again so hopefully there'll be no dramas there!! _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

The decals have gone on. They took ages to come off the backing paper and I slightly tore two of them. I used microset and sol but it looks like there'll be lots of silvering. I'll apply some more microsol to see if that helps, but hopefully a coat or two of klear will reduce the effect. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

Well I've put a coat of Klear over the decals and unfortunately they still look rough around the edges. I've got a few more models with the brown backing paper, I might try and source some aftermarket decals for them.
There's still the Matt Cote to go, so that may soften the effect. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

Last coat of Matt Cote went on today. Unfortunately the decals still look awful but there's nothing I can do about that now.
I'll let this dry then add all the fiddly bits in the next couple of days then post some completed pics. _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.
