My Build will be the Airfix 1/72 Mosquito XIX/J.30. (03062).
The usual shot of all the parts.
Fuselage slightly warped but some hot water and clamps fixed it
Engine nacelle halves. I made sure that the location holes for the undercarriage legs were drilled out and slightly enlarged as a number of others had reported problems in this area. A lot of care was taken in the assembly of the u/c.
The wings and tailplane have been fitted, along with the new nose.
It is starting to look like a Mosquito.
Undercarriage and propellers have been fitted to the nacelles. No major problems in this operation.
Now painted in Light Grey undercoat (HU64).
Silver topcoat (XA1216).
Masked up for the ID bands (MKRAF23).
Yes Folks, it`s one from SEAC.
Two shots of it in the sunshine this morning (before the thunderstorms started around midday).
Almost finished. Just the final varnishing and the vertical wing tip antennas to fit.
TA230 0f 176 Squadron based at Baigachi in India during August 1945. _________________ Roger. |

Finally finished.
Now matt varnished and wing tip antennas added from plastic coated wire. They are easily bent but can be straighten without breaking.
All in all a very enjoyable Group Build. _________________ Roger. |

A couple more taken outside on Sunday.
Second one shows the repositioned mudguards after viewing photos of the real thing. _________________ Roger. |
