Due to difficulties in accquiring replacement undercarriage, my original plan of an Hs.123 'Nocturnal Nuisance Raider' is on hold.

I may well resort to some sort of nocturnal Beaufighter, but I'm loath to build a straight night-fighter.  I'd prefer to build either a Beaufighter IIF night-fighter or an intruder toting iron bombs.....Is the latter possible?  I'm sure I've seen a picture of a Beaufighter with 250lb bombs under the wings, possibly in the North African theatre.

My start may or may not be delayed depending on the situation in the modeling room.

For what it's worth, all the best

No Spats.....I've succumbed and am hunting down the Avis HS.123 B1 kit, but I'm trying to avoid ordering it from Hannants for obvious reasons.

All the best

You're capable of scratching a couple of rods together! The big time-consumer with the Hs 123 is the cleanup of the mould parting lines on the cowling - over all those head fairings

My LMS has it Andy, both versions IIRC? They've sat in the corner for ages so I can't remember! They've definitely got one version though.

And now they don't.....But I do!

Cheers George!

I'm still not sure exactly what I'm going to be building, or indeed, when exactly I'm going to be building it.

All the best

Well, in a complete change of plan, I am (finally) underway with an Airfix 1/72 Dornier Do.217J-1 nightfighter.....I may be just a tad behind schedule!

For what it's worth, all the best

Most of my efforts have been centred around clean up, but I've managed some construction too:

I've decided to go with a very minimalist OOTB approach to this one!

All the best

The build is now essentially complete:

I now need to paint up the pilots (and several other figures too) before adding the transparencies and masking up.....I'd toyed with crash-forming a replacement canopy, but it occured to me that if I did that, I'd also have to do the turret and ventral gun position, so I decided to give it a miss!

All the best
Sgt.S

You put a lot of work into that top fuselage seam, didn't you!

Yup.....Not a panel line left in sight of it though, even the bomb-bay is gone!

All the best
Sgt.S
PS - Looks like I've still got some work to do at the wingroots!

I remember seeing a photo of a wooden model that a Do 217 crewman(?) groundcrewman(?) made and painted with original RLM paints. It was as smooth as yours!
