Hello,

this is out of my regular scope of collection but when I saw these I had to have them. Since nobody has yet put it here I thought I will make a quick inbox for Your reference.

This set delivers two 8-man teams of generic space rangers/marines/stormtroopers along with two supporting walking machines - one manned light scout walker and the other, heavier biomechanoid with a huge brain modelled inside the hull and 5 weapons of choice to be added to upper racks.

Some trimming is required.

Bio-mechanoid's brain that can be exposed.

Entire set put together with no additional work (only one sprue of figures, second one is identical minus mech driver.

The kit has a great potential for customizing. The only poses lacking are some hot action ones - if one remembers Chechen wars sets from Orion than its obviously a pity they did not utilize that knowledge here. But for any less-than-blazing-action dioramas this set of poses is more than enough. Mechs should have some rocket launchers as an option, as they would normally have a small energy source and using energy weapons only would not make sense - besides, what's the mech without rocket launchers?

Soft plastic will not make the customization easy - trimming, filling and painting is more difficult that in those sets where hard polistyrene is used (like Airfix figures in vehicle sets, or Preiser figures).

I found a gentleman on the web who made these figures into this (click!). This is what I have done to mine so far:

More photos can be found HERE (CLICK!), including more detailed shots of some sprues' elements.

If Caesar Miniatures would like to follow this trend they sure have some homework to do. The bar has been set and it is not the lowest height in the hobby, I'd say.

Best regards

Krzysztof

Thanks for posting that Krzysztof. Excellent figure painting and I am so impressed with this that I have just purchased one online. :thumb:

Thanks Alex.

Small (?) arms are scratch-built in my case (except for OKB Grigorov's P90 held by commander) but if You lay Your hands on OKB Grigorov's OICW or FN 2000 with GL than these should do the job even better.

If You do, please let me know and take one extra packet for me ;)

Hi, I am not too worried about the small arms as it is mainly the droid/robot things that I am after. They will eventually be used in a Science fiction diorama that is similar to this: http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... 32762.html
