This is the one I'll be building:

In true Blue Peter style, here's one I prepared earlier (about 5 years ago!)

This is why I'll be doing this one in the green and grey scheme!

Up for a race aswell?

I made the same kit about five years ago in the Winter Scheme too. It looks pretty dire in comparison!

Here is the sprue shot of the GR3:

The insructions:

And the decals:

I have started painting a few bits and bobs, mainly whatever is black at the moment!

Owen, I don't think I'll be up for a race as I'll be on holiday for two weeks from Thursday, then my dad's here for a week, so progress will be slow for a while!

Well, I've finally made some progress!!!

I've managed to start getting some of the smaller bits and bobs painted:

The filler is there because of the sink marks in the intakes.  Equally bad on both sides.

I also got the wings together:

I hope you can see the mismatch in the upper and lower surfaces.  This is going to take some work to get it all looking good!

Hopefully this weekend, I'll be able to get the pilot finished and maybe the fuselage halves together (even with the nozzles still moving!)

More progress!!!

I got the engine in, but the fan doesn't move and I painted behind the nozzles so that they could go in.

Then, I got the fuselage together, with all the nozzles linked together.

It all needs a bit of tidying up, but I'm pleased with how it's going so far.

Thanks Owen,

Last night I got the whole thing sanded, and filled a couple of spots that needed it.  Hopefully, they'll get sanded tonight, then I can add the landing gear, so it's coming along nicely now!

Hopefully, I'll have some photos tonight,

Paula

As promised, here are some photos of the GR3 now it's been sanded, and the gear's been added.

It's coming along nicely now!

Well, my Harrier is coming along nicely now.  It is essentially built, it's only missing all the weapons and associated pylons.

I've primed it now with 2 coats of H64, but the first coat showed that there was a bit of a gap at the trailing edge of both wings, so these had to be filled and sanded before the second coat was applied.

I'll try and post some pics over the weekend.

I've managed to get the camouflage laid out.  I started with H163, and did it all the same way as I painted my Lynx, by laying out one colour, then filling the gaps with the other.

That was this morning.  Today I've managed to get two coats of the second colour, H164, applied.

After I took this photos, I moved the model to take a picture of the other side and managed to knock off one of the wing gears in the process!!!

Don't worry, I've already re-attached it!

So it needs some tidying up, and the weapons need to be sorted out too.

Nearly there!

Paula

As those of you who saw Dan's thread about my enforced break, one of the first things I did when I got home today was decal my Harrier, just to get me back into the swing of things!!

I've now Kleared it twice, and I'm getting there with the weapons, so, fingers crossed for a finish by the end of the GB!

Here's my Harrier finished!  Only a couple of days late!  I took the pics yesterday, but never got a chance to post them, so here they are:

The rest of the pictures are in the gallery,

Paula
