Airfix 1/76 Bedford MK 4-Tonne Truck - G.S. Body (A02326)
This one might actually be a JB Models kit. I bought it already assembled - covered in glue, unpainted - among a junk pile of kits. So this is a complete ground up restoration. When I got to the end of the build I ended up buying a new Airfix kit just for the license plate decals. I'll build the second kit one day. :)
Image

Airfix 1/72 D.H.C. Beaver (397)
The kit represents a Top-dressing aircraft that operates near where I live. Fin codes are from a Ventura decal sheet and black stripes from Microscale Decals. There're a few scratch built parts but mostly oob.
Image

Airfix 1/76 Cromwell IV Tank (A02338)
Built oob - it's such a nice little kit why would I change anything :)
Plonked on an old Matchbox diorama base (Chaffee kit I think) with some figures from the HaT range.
Image

Airfix 1/72 Messerschmitt Bf109E-4 (A01008)
von Werra's crash site. Really happy with how this turned out.
Image

Airfix 1/72 Skyhawk A4D-1 (00022) - the old tool!
Scribed some panel lines as the kit is 'bald as a badger'. Undercarriage was pretty basic so plonked it on a stand which I think came with the Beaver kit.
Image

Airfix 1/72 Curtiss Hawk 81-A-2 (A01003)
Built as a Pearl Harbour P-40B. Decals from AML.
Image

Airfix HO/OO Scorpion Tank (01320)
I spent some time sorting out the details on this one - definitely not oob. Red-beret Figures are Revell (ex Matchbox) British Paratroopers. Tank Commander was a WW2 driver from MMS and Tank Driver was a pilot from a Frog Airspeed Oxford! - painting the uniforms was fun. :)

:welcome: Hi powder, a lovely start to your portfolio. The models themselves are great; where you have put them onto your own bases with figures I think is superb :thumb:

A fine collection. The prop on the P-40 is especially interesting.

Outstanding builds, brilliant finishes :welcome:

A-4s for ever!!! :clapping: love the A4D-1, first time I've seen a close to correct pre-deployment colour scheme done for the supplied VA-45 decals :clapping:

I'll have to ask you about the Scorpion and how you did it, fantastic!!! :notworthy:

Will you post more pictures of your builds in the appropriate galleries . . . . PLEASE

Thanks very much for all the wonderful comments. It makes a new-boy feel most welcome and they're very much appreciated.

I guess you mean the maroon colour? I was following advice from a very helpful member on another forum - but it is possible they were 'pulling my leg' and having a good laugh at my naivety. The 'theory' was that bare metal props sometimes had maroon anti-glare paint on the rear side.
The photo here shows the same aircraft:
https://fineartamerica.com/featured/dam ... erman.html
The light colour at the base of the prop blade led me to think it was a bare metal blade rather than all-over black. I've also tried to represent the worn paint at the blade tips, but maybe the paint colour should be black. :?

I did some research for the Scooter but I ended up just guessing the blue on the fin/rudder. Red might have been a better option or at least a darker blue. It was a fun build though. I'd like to get the new-tool Airfix A-4B one day.

I have some progress photos for the Scorpion and the all the others. I'll continue exploring the site and see where they're best placed.

Here's a few more diorama/vignette builds:

KP 1/72 Avia BH-3 (22).
Figures are from Orion/Dark Dream Studios set of WW1 Pilots (yes even the woman in a dress is in the set!) The BH-3 was a military aircraft but I've modelled it as a 1923 racing aircraft.
Image

Masterbox 1/72 Mk I "Female" British Tanks - Gaza modifications (MB72004).
Figures are HaT WWI British Infantry (Tropical). Palm trees from Verlinden. The tank represents one called H.M.L.S. Kia Ora. There's a surprising amount of info available on this tank so I was able to add a few extra bits to 'personalise' the build.
Image

Rerokit 1/72 da Vinci Tank (RSF016).
Very basic resin kit so had a bit of fun with this build. The wall is Italeri. The figures are MiniArt German Knights. You'll have to blame my imagination for the rest. :D

Superb additions, the DaVinci's tank dio is brilliant :notworthy:
There was no red in the A4D-1's VA-45 squadron markings. The blue you've used on the rudder and tanks would also be the blue behind the canopy. (I've actually had an online conversation with ex-members of VA-45 from this time and confirmed a lot of info). What I meant was there were other markings on the aircraft that need reproducing.
Before you do get your hands on the 'new' Airfix A-4B, you should see my threads viewtopic.php?f=3&t=47356 and http://z15.invisionfree.com/72nd_Aircra ... topic=8240
Keep up the amazing work :thumb:

Thanks guys. I found a couple more photos of projects I'm quite happy with.

KP 1/72 MiG-17PF (7).
Oob except for a vac-conopy I picked up from somewhere - it wasn't designed for the KP kit but fitted just fine - and I also used sewing pins for the pointy things on the wing tips.
Image

Roden 1/72 PKZ-2 (008).
Figures are resin pieces from Aerobonus - quite expensive but beautifully detailed. Rigged with Mig/Uschi rigging wire - the stretchy stuff. The base is veneer strips all individually hand cut and glued down - about 20-30hrs work. :hithead:

Wow, marvellous additions, Malcolm. I love the Da Vinci tank diorama, with knights hiding around the corner, and also the German helicopter diorama.

Thanks everyone. I've finished off a couple more just this morning:

Heller 1/72 Spitfire 1A (79761) - old Airfix tool (01071).
Decals from Xtradecal (X72221) - depicting N3290, GR-U, 92 Sqn, RAF Hornchurch, June 1940.
Image

Legato 1/72 Curtiss P-40E "Warhawk" (AZL 7223).
Depicting "Start Dust" flown by Andrew J. Reynolds, 9th FS, 49th FG, USAAF, Darwin Australia, July 1942.

I found another older project photo.

Keil Kraft 1/72 B-Type London Bus (K312).
Converted the bus to a WW1 people-mover. Base is Matchbox - mostly - and figures are Airfix WW1 British Infantry (A01727) & Artillery (A01731) - with one figure from the Emhar set (EM 7201).
