i was curious on what exactly the rocket launchers for Goliath were from Knight Rider...??? And if there was any possible way of retrieving any off from another model to fit within the Peterbilt 352 Pacemaker model i have. Its more of a model my father is working on and is abit stumped for now. if anyone had any info or some direction on something to where to get some rockets that would fit would be really appreciated...Thanks.

Im using a 1/18th scale tractor trailor off a nylint truck (well my father is), i just wanted to know if its possible to retrieve a set of rocket launchers (4) that were used on "Knight Rider" series Goliath the tractor trailor they used in a few episodes. i dont have the pictures, but one guy from here had made a model of it.. that had pictures. Kent Rider one of the members of this site has done it, but within a 1/25th scale i see....Only issues ill be having is those rockets he has on them, i mean i was wondering if any model of some kind would have them on a like a military model or something....all in all its just for my father for his entertainment his lil hobby, i was trying to help him out as he enjoys modeling...

Hi KRfan,

unfortunately the rocket launchers on my 1/25 scale GOLIATH are scratchbuilt from brass & aluminium tubing and sheet, so I can't help you with sourcing those parts from other models.

Image

GOLIATH only had the rocket launchers in "GOLIATH" episode, when it appeared in "GOLIATH Returns" episode they had removed them, so if you want an easier option, build it as it was in "GOLIATH Returns"

Image

BTW, GOLIATH was a double-bunk 352 cab not a single-bunk 352 like in the AMT kit, so you'll either need to find another cab and chop the 2 to make the double-bunk....

Image

or buy the resin 352 cab conversion that has recently come on the market (but this is about $60.00USD, so is not cheap).

Hope this helps,

Tony

is that a 3/8 size tube for the rocket... as i was down at my hobby shop and seen some brass tubes and some plastruct tubes thats seems right for it. i had the them all setup for my step dad...he just wasnt sure on the size and all. he's just a typical modeler, i kind of gave him a lil push to try to add abit more to it then the typical quickly put together model.i only draw & sketch, he does all the modeling... i just try to help him add more details and give it abit more life to it. knight riders 30th anniversary & watching some ole shows is what got us into doing it all. i think he is ordering a 1/25 352 peterbilt overcab one. i dont know,i'll see if he is up for soldering or see if we can get something with plastruct. as plastruct adds up as i seen..lol, the brass tubing is alot cheaper. well i really appreciate you 2 responding and helping me out...and great work Kent, really impressive...

Rocket launcher casing on my 1/25 scale GOLIATH is 15/32" brass tubing.

Don't forget GOLIATH was a double bunk cabover, so you will need either an extra cab to chop and give you the extra depth in the cab (see pics above), or you will need to buy the aftermarket resin double bunk cab.

BTW if you like my GOLIATH, have a look in the "models on the go 2012" thread, I've posted some pics of my current 1/25 scale build (the FLAG semi complete with KITT).

A more resourceful, cheaper, way to make the conversion would be to rub aluminium foil over the detail to be copied and apply that to plastic card. You can stiffen the foil, if you feel the need (with superglue and talc, or epoxy, for instance).
