Hi All, I plan to build a Seahawk for this using Modeldecal decals for a Suez colour scheme.

As we are getting near, I thought I would display the items for building. Here we have the Airfix Seahawk in all it's glory, along with the Aeroclub undercarriage set to improve the look of the lovely beastie. I am gutted to say that I have managed to lose my Modeldecal Sheet 57 with the Seahawks on it when I moved house (typically it is the only one I can't find!). Oh well, on to Hannants website again.....

Just a quick update; I have started, just rescribing the panel lines at the moment. I am away to Leuchars tomorrow (the dreaded gas chamber again), so will start in earnest on Friday.

Hi guys, I know I have been somewhat quiet, but I have been working on the Seahawk (honest!). The wings have been assembled and pylons removed (I prefer the clean lines of the old girl - she is quite stunning). I have also joined the fuselage halves together and rather poorly drilled out the gun barrels, but at least it gives the impression of what should be there. I have decided against detailing the cockpit; the area is rather small and I am still trying to finish off 10 other models at the same time. However, I have fitted an Aeroclub ejection seat to give a small amount of detail. Anyway, here is a rather poor picture to prove I have been a little busy!

The Seahawk is a lovely aircraft.

What's the fit like of this kit? It doesn't look too bad from the photos.

Hi guys, sorry about the lack of progress and updates. I have various assessments going on at work at the moment, and I will be at Kinloss between 9th-20th, so the modelling has unfortunately taken a back burner. I will endeavour to catch up as much as I can when (if!) I get some spare time.

FZ6, the fit of my kit wasn't great, mainly due to the fact the the fuselage was a little warped. There are only a few parts so it is hard to mess this up. I like the kit, it captures the shape of the Seahawk well, but I would suggest getting an earlier release of the kit to get crisper mouldings.

Hi All,

have returned from my stint up at Kinloss, and have now recovered from the illness associated with it (long story). As I start nights at work tomorrow, the day will be spent getting up to speed on the kit, and hopefully I will have some pics on here by the evening with some progress. I am very impressed with the standard of everyone's kits so far, so I have some work to do!

Cheers,

Dave

Ok, things are moving again. I have tried to improve the jetpipes and generally the fit of the model. You can tell be the amount of filler on the wee beastie that my kit was not the best fit (or maybe I am a poor modeller!). Next step will be an undercoat before applying the sky.

Ayup Albert...

Knowing anything, It's probably the kit being Ill-fitting...  But it looks an Harmonious whole, so, looks good for paint !

Yet another update - things are progressing slowly, but the old girl has been painted. The yellow bands are complete, the black bands will be overlaid tomorrow. A few other little bits to do before decalling, but hopefully    she will be completed over the next few days.

OK, I have finally finshed the overall painting (few bits here and there to finish), but she is "Kleared" and ready for decalling. Thanks for your comments, Flash Flash, nice to see another Leeds supporter on here!

Thanks, the Attacker is the Magna, and has put up a fight all the way through building it! It has taken over a year, but I have finally gotten around to finishing it alongside the Sea Hawk.

Hi Guys,

finally done, rushed somewhat towards the end which has marred things a little. Still, she looks like a Sea Hawk, so I'm happy enough!
