Last night I painted the decks Tamiya XF-55 Deck Tan

Today, while rummaging in the loft, I found some plastic tube that might just work as the emplacements for Oerlikons

The glue is out

Assembly Stage 1 complete

The seam of the hull is a bit flimsy for my shovels    so I'm re-inforcing it with filler

And that's Assembly Stage 2 completed

Wow    aren't liners quick to put together
I've cut about 35 lengths of plastic tube for the Oerlikon bins

I've not stuck them down yet and haven't decided how to do the guns

Looking good so far!

Hu64 sounds plausible to me too, not that I know enough to really judge?

Cheers Paul  Cheers!
I don't intend for her to be dockyard fresh, so I reckon 64'll be close enough

Hello mister Ratch, nice beguinning .Just a little thing, for me yours oerlikons bins are to thick for the scale. For them, use some aluminium foils or a very thin plastic sheet. The visual effect is very accurate,i use this sort of stuff for all my building.I hope see others photos of your building, the QE is a very beautiful ship, nice choice.Amitiés Rémy

Hi Rémy, I'm afraid my shipbuilding skills aren't up to that kind of delicate work - particularly in this scale
Mine will be a mere caricature  Sofa

Looking good Ratch!

Would chopped down drinking straws be a better size for thickness/diameter?

Just a thought.

Cheers!

Hmm.
it seems orionV scores yet again (he is so good) and us Brits take the hint and come up with DRINKING STRAWS! Well done- modelling is innovation- seeing the alternative use for something.
cheers Stuart
