Having finally finished my Jetstream for the FAA Group Build (only 5 months late), I thought I might give FEARLESS a go and build her as INTREPID as I served onboard her as a Midshipman for my Dartmouth Training Ship deployment to the Caribbean in early 1981.

Now a couple of questions.  As far as I can recall, she carried a whaler on the stbd side davits between the 2 LCVPs and I'm sure that she had a Cheverton on the port side.  Unfortunately almost all of the photos that I can find of her show her stbd side and the one that I can find of her port side dates from 1970 and shows a whaler.  Does anyone have access to the Neil McCart book on the class that I'm assuming will have the defintive evidence?

Secondly, I looked at the kit parts this afternoon and some are awful!  The motor boat designed to sit on a cradle on the flight deck looks nothing like the Fairey Huntress that we carried.  Similarly the 25 man life raft containers are the very early 1950s/early 60s design and look nothing like the round variant fitted from the early 70s onwards.  I've tried WEM but they have nothing suitable for either the Huntress or the life rafts.  Does anyone know of any other source of resin upgrades for these?

Many thanks

Thanks Remy.  I've got the PE and can modify the boats but didn't fancy the prospect of having to make 80 of the life raft containers.

I guess I will have to take the life rafts from the AMAZON kit (which IIRC were quite accurate) and use those to cast some moulds and make them myself in resin.
