Built OOB. I would not normally have bought this kit but I found it going very cheap. It is an old Monogram tool from 1970 and thus shows it's age in both part fit and detail. Those wanting a truly accurate representation of the Command Module interior will be disappointed as the colour call outs are way off the mark, and the instrument panel decals are very toy like. Quite a big lump though when finished and kept me occupied enough.

Oh, but Ian!  Unless you knew exactly what it should look like ... that is a sweet model and beautifully built!  Is the Revell version the same tooling or is it completely different to the Monogram one?

From what I can tell Alan it is the original Monogram tool, and thus has never been re-tooled by Revell, although the decals have been slightly changed (inclusion of some warning signs on the SM manoeuvring thrusters).

I'm a bit of an Apollo arm chair amateur and I do know that although the CM interior was a light green it was never the green Revell suggest.

Based on Apollo 12 but it may have elements from later flights as well. I also used photo etch and resin parts from New Ware. I'm not happy with my poor scribing of the foil finish as I wanted to give the impression of the isulating tape used but it's too rough. I tried to remove the foil but that wasnt going to happen. Still I have leaned for the next time!
