I shall be building this,

Obligatory sprue and decal shots.

Still not entirely decided which scheme to do, it's a toss up between the RAF version with all the drop stores or the US version with the nice tail art. Bit confused about what all the stores are and when different bits would be used, guess I'll have to try to do a bit of research.

I've made start, I'll be doing the RAF T.10 for no other reason than I have the paints I need.

Working on the cockpit as this is the rate limiting factor, I'll be including the pilots. I've glued the stores together and the intakes, I opened up the upper blow in doors. Working on the intake seams to eliminate them.

Pilots all painted and the cockpits assembled. All the bits glued into one half.

The fuselage halves were joined together and the wings fitted. The seams and joins were pretty good, only a bit of filler needed here and there.

The cockpit binnacles will need a bit of work, and the nose cone had the worst joins, so some of the raised detail will be lost when it is sanded down.

All sanded down, weapons pylons on and the undercarriage doors have been cut down and glued in place.

The fixed parts of the canopy have been glued in place. The two canopies have been put on and held in place with tamiya tape for the painting process. 4 part canopy is a pain, doesn't join terribly well, and the rearmost part won't fit unless I lose the top of the pilots head! Would have been nice to have a one piece canopy inlcuded as well as the 4 parter!

Just a bit more masking and it's ready for primer.

I had a similar problem with the GR7 I built a while ago.  I ended up having to perform some radical surgery on the pilot's bottom in order to get him low enough to put the canopy on!

My boy is well and truly stuck in place! Got the primer on, I decided to use Hu64, prepped the stores as well.

Put two coats of Hu156 on, then masked and sprayed the Hu164. Due to the presence of all the pylons I'll paint the overlap under the wings and tailplanes by brush. The bombs have been sprayed with Hu75 bronze green - quite a bit of matting agent has come out when dry. Hopefully this will disappear with a gloss coat.

Coming along nicely. Is that the Heller Bobcat kit?

No piccies as the camera's usb port is broken. I've been making progress, the painting has been finished and two layers of gloss cote applied. I've been doing some touch ups and painting the undercarriage and undercarriage bays white, and sorting the colour transition in the air intakes. Next step decals.

The stores have all been painted up and glossed ready for decals.

Not much to report, been distracted by real world stuff. I did manage to get all the decals applied, unfortunately I lost one squadron banner, which Ratch has been kind enough to send me a spare one of his.

The kit decals are waaaaay out of register, so everything has white around it. The wing flap strips are very bad. I thought I'd save some time and use the Jammy Dog low tack blue tape to mask off to do the paint touch-up on the unsealed decals. Save me a layer of satin cote - so I thought. Unfortunately the low tack tape is still tacky enough to strip the decals off .

So I'm going to have to mask of the strips and paint them in. If I had done this in the first place it would have saved me a lot of hassle - blasted OOR decals!

Ho hum, you live and learn I suppose.

Ooooh look! Pictures! Managed to borrow a card reader. A couple with the decals just applied, just to give an indication of how out of register they are.

I've been touching up the paintwork and re-doing the lines on the flaps. The weapons have all been painted and decalled.

I've added the nose gear and wing outriggers, I'll then add the rear gear as I can file down the upper attachment point to ensure all the wheels touch the ground. I also added the airbrake.

Finished painting the nozzles with metalcote steel, I've applied the decals and sealed with future to prevent the metalcote from rubbing off.

The stores have all been finished, they just need satin coating along with the rest of the kit. The nose bands on the BL755's were masked off using the JammyDog ultrafine masking tapes, worked well, although I could have done with steadier hands!

Just finishing offf the paint touchups, which include repainting the four colour banner on tha tailfin.

The decals arrived from Ratch - many thanks! The decals are all on and sealed in with two coats of satin cote. I've added the nose transparency and added a scratchbuilt replacement for the landing gear light (Parquet monster!).

I've put the nozzles on and I'm just painting up the canopy framing - soooo close to finishing!

Got mine finished this morning, bit of faffing with the canopies. The front one wouldn't pose open as it fouled the windscreen. So just the rear is open - they're in the last seconds of closing it up before taxiing out . The four part canopy is a real pain, I'm not happy with it and may fiddle with it in the future.

ZH665 "113", No.20 Squadron RAF, Wittering, UK, 1999.

Edit: reposed the canopy in the correct position.
