This is my first effort after a great many years
Spitfire 1/48 Douglas Bader Kit
Image
I have got the bug again so I have bought a good selection of paints (very expensive IMO)
Next project is 1/48 Messerschmitt B109E

A Spitfire. Always the best way to start a new portfolio. Good job, looks like all it needs is a victim, like an Me 109.

Douglas Bader - it's the southern accent that does it.

I seem to be following a trend first model = Spitfire second model = Messerschmitt Bf109 What next I wonder????...more planes i think
The Bf109 will be the last model I do based on my old schoolboy knowledge of modeling. A big thanks should go to everyone on this forum for sharing there knowledge and pictures. For my next project, I will be masking, i will be filling, I will be glossing, I will apply decals better, I will matt finish, I will try a 'wash', I will not be rushing to finish..etc etc

Image

The 'silvering' on the decals is more obvious on the Messer. and I'm not happy with the paint But hey its worth adding some pics as I really enjoyed this project. I am now a modelling adict

This is the latest finished Spit, and my building technique has vastly improved, thaanks to this forum and the hundreds of other I have found since starting. I really enjoyed the kit more due to the knowledge gained, and althougth my weathering in pretty dodgy I am happy
There is alot of room for improvment including canopys and decals

Good looking Spit.  The weathering looks good to me.

its been a while I have been away doing a few other models, but I thought I'd come back to the original kit manufactuter I did a wheels up Hawk and loved every second of this build
Image
I did have a few problems, I primed the model badly and rushed the clean up so the black finish is terrible. So I have actually ordered another kit plus a red arrows version, so I will have a squadron of Hawks
