OK so here in company with an Airfix VC10 airliner that I converted back from the tanker kit:

And comparisons:
Well, Roden model is a good inch longer, all ahead of the main gear. That's what makes it a Super.
Roden has a step in the wing leading edge, that Airfix missed. It's certainly there on photos of G-ASGI but difficult to tell on G-ARVM.
Roden missed two LE wing fences, Airfix put a wing fence in the wrong place. I added the inner one to my Airfix model.
Rodem attempted the dihedral engine mounts that Airfix just got wrong. Still doesn't quite look right though.

Which is more pleasing to build? Airfix is straightforward, but those delicate Roden trailing edges did cause melting damage that I've never seen before.
Which is more pleasing to own? Easy as Roden is so much more available than Airfix, and offering all the variants.
Any improvements:  Yes - a cockpit decal similar the that I used on my Airfix VC10.  So much easier.
Bring on a kit of XV103 in her 10 Squadron airliner scheme - and I might even build another.
I had an air experience flight in XV103 as an air cadet.

That's a lovely pair of models you have there of the most beautiful jet airliner ever (IMHO). So are Roden issuing a VC-10 Standard too?

Well, IMO the Roden kit has another advantage; BOAC markings!
