So sad. A big part of my childhood now has a hole in it.
RIP Sylvia Anderson. Long may the memories of Lady Penelope live on.

The Andersons were true creators.

So sad to hear the news on her passing. I was lucky enough to meet her when she came to Perth a few years ago. She was signing her book in the foyer of a Cinema that was showing Thunderbird 6. The room was quite crowded (and full of noisy kids) but she handled herself like a lady. When she spoke to me it was like talking to Lady Penelope. i treasure my signed copy. God bless you M'Lady.

I grew up with Supercar, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet etc and the special effects just opened up my mind wondering how they created such landscapes and models that, as a child, were just so good.
(You never saw the strings when you were engrossed with the action of the aircraft and vehicles).

RIP Sylvia.

RIP Sylvia. I also grew up with Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Joe 90 and the rest. As a lad, my dad and I would rush back from swimming on Sunday mornings to make sure we didn't miss Thunderbirds...
