After two and a half years whingeing about my dodgy arthritic shoulders, I am finally having my right shoulder operation tomorrow lunchtime. Some of you may remember I had the left shoulder done in September 2015:

http://www.davecov.net/modelling/misc_pictures/Img_0094_800.jpg

Last time it took six months post-op before I got full use of my left arm back but at least I was relieved of a lot of pain. I am hoping for the same with my right shoulder and eventually I will be able to get back to a regular sleep pattern again!

My modelling output will be limited for a while but at least that allows even more browsing on the forum!

Dave

Good luck Dave. I'm sure you are going to get a good shoulder again after some focused re-hab training. Thumbs up. :thumb:

Ouch! Best wishes for a swift recovery. As an archery coach, I know just how complex shoulders are, and as a fellow sufferer I know how much they can affect every bit of your life. Here's to a pain free life!

Best of luck, the quickest road to recovery, (so they say), is exercise. So get in plenty of this :snack: or this  whilst recovering.

I've long wondered about that. I've been told not to eat anything after 12 midnight the day before a surgery. At 12:15am a glass of orange juice is vorboten! But at 11:45pm I can eat a mushroom cheesesteak with fried onions. Best of luck to you. You know this is a big deal for you - one of your two favorite shoulders in the world - but the surgeon probably does a dozen such operations a week. You'll be in good hands.

A good opportunity to study in preparation for your modelling output after you've recovered!

Best regards.

Thanks James and Fred. :thumb:

I am having the same surgeon who operated on my left shoulder a year ago so I know I am in good hands. I am not being over-dramatic in saying that it will have a huge effect on my quality of life which has suffered a lot over the past two years due to the ongoing (two) shoulder problems.

I now have fifteen minutes left in which to have another drink of water and that will be it until this evening!

Dave

Thanks again everybody.

I am back home tonight after a successful operation. Now the long road to recovery begins!
