My son found these figures a few weeks ago and asked me to paint them
I think they're Warhammer  :?  but I'm only guessing

Incidentally, I've no idea whether they should've been painted in particular colours    I just made it up as I went along  :P

Yes it looks like you have a selection of Warhammer 40000 Orks and Space Marines there.

I think practically anything goes with regard to the colour scheme on these chaps :)

The ones with the large, round circular shoulder pads and the two with the motorbikes are called 'Ultramarines', I can tell because my brother used to collect them.

From what I can remember, they were horendously expensive. My cousin gave me a few of them once, they were all very well painted - its a shame I got rid of them really.

Ayup all...

The ones in red look like the guards for the witches castle in the Wizard of Oz to me...

My son has just got into this, and to be honest I'm lost. We've got some figures but how on earth do you play the game? I think a trip to Games Workshop is in order.

The ones my son wants to collect are Necrons - we've made a few and I think they're tedious as hell. If you buy a big box, they're all the same! It was bad enough building a box of 12, but making 50-odd of the stupid things would drive me insane.

And I'm with Owen about the cost - enough to make your eyes water!

I painted those in my 'Production Line' method - one colour on each of the figures then the next (and so on) :P
I've given them to my nephew now :)

i was once given an ork,
spent a few days painting it and it looked pretty good at the end, the teeth were even slightly blood-stained with a red wash!
i gave it away at a later date along with some unmade soilders, that looked like tudor people, from the regular version , any ideas?

my opinion on ultarmarines are they are rubbish, everyone who does a space marine army seems to always do ultra marines, why can't people just do something completly different, like start their own chapter or do another less known chapter which is mentioned in the codex.

That's why I paint the entire Should Pad as the Company colour rather than just the trim, so that my army is different (be it slightly) than most others.

One day I may create my own chapter

My younger brother collects Blood Angels
