A powered glider from Dalton Barracks (RAF Abingdon on lease to British Army), one magpie, one robin, four blackbirds, two sparrows, loads of pigeons (rats of the sky) and my wife when she discovered how much I have spent on model purchases recently. Ciao |

The wonderful sight and sound of a DC3
Watched it for a while then it turned on finals into DTVA ( Teesside Airport).
It was in a red livery and think it had something under its nose ( radar housing ??)
Anybody know who operates these now ??
Air Atlantiques' are mainly white , so i believe , never seen a red one.

usually pretty drull and boring, airliners and light aircraft. Today was very different though. I heard a droning followed very quickly by 2 aircraft in formation at around 150-200 ft.
Nice surprise to see a P-51D Mustang and P-40 in sparkling condition doing a flypast (2) followed by a lazy upward roll.
The 2 pass was the business though - flat stick with the P-51 hotly pursued by the P-40. Close enough to catch the regn so was able to look them up.

I remember this aircraft also being involved in a prop strike and prior to that it ingested stones in the radiator the day before an airshow in Ardmore.

Looked really good in Chinese national colours - highly polished too!
Not so great was another would be participant - coming to grief after a landing gear failure and inevitable prop strike. Did well to belly it though. Another fix it job.
