phew, anyone else struggling with these ? ..I've even got new glasses for close work but the detail of what precisely goes where, which way round they go.. and even which way up seems to be leaving much to guesswork... The grey foggy photo images to work to aren't a patch on the detailed drawings of 'normal' airfix... and the lack of locating holes isn't helping me either.... presume HMoS St Albans is to the same pattern.. bring back detailed drawings I say, to help the aged (me!...)

I built the Mirage boxings of both HMS Montgomery and HNMoS St Albans for Airfix earlier on this year:

Biggest problem for me was not just fitting the tiny bollards, but seeing them too:

I was having a look at the instructions in the Montgomery I bought today and trying to work out exactly what was supposed to be Scarlet in the Western Approaches scheme - at least from Dave's build I can see it was the port light and a band round the forward funnel! The rigging diagram looks fun as well. I see WEM want £13 for their 1/400 scale railings, but there should be enough to do the Kreigsmarine set that's in the loft as well.

Eeek.....I thought the bonus rivets on UMs 1/72 Pz38(t)s were bad, but those are just lunacy!

Looks nice when it's done though!

All the best

I thought the instructions for the additional bars required for the prop protection frame rather good... 'make them yourself'... I'm still soldiering on with the kit but not as much fun as had hoped !
