I thought I'd been building reasonable models for about 30 years. Looking at the efforts of you guys I need to up my game.
Image
This was a side by side build. One built for a friend and one for myself.  One went together beautifully while the  other one was a real pig.
I sprayed the Wilkinsons multi surface enamel white primer with a Plasti-kote red gloss top coat (which reacted slightly with the primer giving the final finish a slight leather effect.)
The underside decals were impossible having fitted the under wing strakes (?) before hand. With hindsight I should have left them off and decalled first....

ICM 1:48 Spitfire. A nightmare build, way beyond my skill level. I struggled over a 6 month period fighting the urge to recycle it with a big hammer on many occasions. I’m really pleased with the final result. Never give up on a model. Perseverance wins.

Excellent Hawks, Alan. Despite its problems, the Spit is a real beauty also.

Very nice builds Alan. Looking at these I need to up my game - although it would be easier if you agreed to "down" your game. :D

Great start and some lovely examples there Alan, the beauty if this forum is that there is a total mix of skills from beginners to virtual Michael Angello's of plastic and we all learn of each other.

Looking forward to seeing more examples of your excellent work  :thumb:

I'd not be worrying about the quality of any of those models, they are superb!  I made the same mistake with the Red Arrow I built, they never quite manage to consider decals when doing the instructions :)
