AIRFIX ' Jeanne D' Arc ' 1/400 aircraft assault ship??

I just saw this on Ebay (item  330296674439) and thought at first that the 'Airfix' in the title was a seller's ploy to entice search engines or merely to act as shorthand for 'plastic kit' but looked anyway as I wasn't that familiar with the kit in question.  The box top does indeed have an Airfix logo on it, perhaps (it looks a bit squint to me...).

Is this real?  Did this kit get boxed up as an Airfix one?

well it looks like a heller kit to me with the graphics and box art.  the airfix logo looks like an add on - now i admit to knowing diidly squat about the history of Airfix kits but a google of "Jeanne D' Arc ' 1/400 aircraft assault ship" brings up heller > airfix.

but as i said - what do i know?!

I think I remember seeing one of those in the late lamented Woolworths a few years ago. The Airfix logo was a sticker on the Heller box, and there's a big square patch where it looks like he's torn off the Woolies price sticker (which probably said half-price, despite their never having sold it at full price).

Thanks Richard & Walrus.  A sticker makes sense.

So would it be eligible for a GB I wonder?

Hi Paul
Dave set a precedent with my Frog/Airfix PoW & Repulse, in that they were disqualified

Seems a little harsh!

Of course a precedent is only that and we do have a new leader now

I can verify it is  Heller Kit with an Airfix sticker on the box.

I won the auction.
