August Charity Treasure Hunt - End Date extended!

The treasure hunt will start with a single clue, issued to each entrant.  The solution to that clue will lead you to a post on the forum, in which you will find the next clue, and so on.  In all, there are 20 clues.

Each post that you find will contain an icon like this:

You should take a note of the number beneath the treasure chest, as this is what you will need to send in to prove that you have solved the clue.  The number will be between 3 and 5 digits.

To register your entries, you should PM me with a list of all of the numbers that you have found.  To prove that you have followed the trail correctly, you will need to send them in the correct order - if you just send in the list in any old order, your entry will be rendered invalid!

Here are a few hints:
- all of the posts with answers in contain a picture of the subject referred to in the clue.
- the clues are cryptic, but shouldn't be too difficult.  By way of a little help, most of the clues also contain a 'key word' that can be found in the post containing the answer.  If you can't work out the answer, try using the search facility for some of the words.
- remember, Google is your friend!
- the posts containing the answers can be found anywhere on the site, but as some areas don't contain many pictures, they're less likely to have the answers in.
- Don't bother searching for something like 'clue', as that won't help in the slightest The next clue will be denoted by this icon:

I hope people find this a bit of fun, but if you can't find the answer to a particular clue, don't panic!  Send in what you've got by the end of the competition - you never know, everyone else might have got stuck on the clue before you!

To enter the competition, go to this page.  To increase your chances of winning, you can enter as many times as you like, with each entry costing £2.  For those who don't want to enter the competition, you can still donate money to our chosen charities by visiting the Charity Donations page.

Just a reminder that the ATF Charity Treasure Hunt is underway and you are all invited to take part!

Two weeks in, and so far I've only had answers sent in from one person!

Everyone else finding it too hard, or biding your time and taking it slowly?
Owen

I keep on meaning to enter. I haven't got round to it yet.

You have permission to pester!

I will be having a crack at this soon, the madness here at my place of toil should be over by the Monday (famous last words ) giving me a little more time to chase up the clues.

Cheers

Less than a week to go, and so far I've only had two sets of answers submitted. Come on you lot - you've got a good chance of winning if you get your answers in!

The Treasure Hunt was due to end this Sunday, however due to the low number of entries that we have received so far, the deadline is now going to be extended to the end of the month.

At the risk of sounding like Delia at a Norwich match, come on - let's be having you! It's only £2 to enter, all profits are going to the charities that YOU nominated and you've got a chance of winning your choice of kit from those donated. It's a bit poor that out of a membership of 500+, we've only had four entries so far and those are from moderators of the site!

How about an Airfix 1/24 Bf-109E - a chance at that has to be worth 2 quid of anyone's money. Or a VE-Day set - loads of kits and could be yours for next to nothing!

Another "let's be having you" moment!

We have had entries from four people so far in the Charity Treasure Hunt (one of those on more than one occasion) and whilst their entries are most welcome, we need many more. Remember, the whole idea is to have a bit of fun and raise money for the charities chosen by you, the members. If you don't have the time or don't want to do the Treasure Hunt, you can help by making a donation instead.
