Calling from LondonAs of just a few weeks ago, I hadn't built a kit in over thirty years. I'd had a vague idea that I might pick up the hobby again, at some point, but hadn't done anything about it. Then I just happened to pass Modelzone on Holborn and saw the Airfix 1/48 TSR2. It was love at first sight.
So I'm in the process of assembling all the necessaries and discovering what the state of the art is these days. Panel lines, for instance, in my day they were considered out of scale and ruthlessly removed.
I've got a lot to learn...
[Edit: I should have mentioned that because I surf from work I can't always reply immediately. So please understand if I'm slow (sometimes very slow) to reply.]
[Edit 2: More details. The username is an online handle I've used since the mid-90s, the more discerning among you may know the origin of it. My real name's Tony, I'm in my mid 40s, live in London, work for the Government. I'm happily childless, and hoping to move to a bigger house real soon (and it looks as though I'll have to if I'm going to buy that 1/24 Mosquito!). Have a lifelong obsession with aircraft, and prefer to build them as kits. On the go at the moment, 1/48 TSR2, Mosquito (Revell) and Harrier (ditto).]

Many thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I'm glad to be here. I'd looked at a few forums before joining, and this one really does appear to be the most informative, friendly and supportive.
I'll post photos of my efforts just as soon as I've managed something I'm not embarrassed for anyone else to see.

This is really a very supportive and friendly place that has helped me a awful amount since taking kit fettling up again. There's a lot of education and inspiration flowing around here!
Like you, it was the 1/48 TSR.2 that pulled me back in, but I haven't been brave enough to start it yet.
I look forward to seeing your progress in your return to this hobby and, as has been said, don't be shy!
