Hello all from the Netherlands

Hi All,

Just a quick hello, I am based in the Netherlands serving with HM Forces here. I think that my story is similar to a lot of others here. I was an avid builder of anything plastic in my formative years, the cheaper the better and looked forward to the quarterly Toy and Train fair or Northern Model Expo as it became known later held at the Museum of Army transport - Beverley, where kits could be bought 10 for a pound!!! After a break of 15 years or so I have returned to the fold with my 11 year old in tow. I have had to build up a stash for the garage in quick time so turned to Ebay where I found a certain seller listing up to 20 unboxed kits as a job lot so I bought those! I am now building my first kit for years, the 1/72nd Airfix Hurricane Mk1, it is years old and has only 1 decal option (Which are pretty out of register, love it!!) JX-B which I think Revell now have as their standard MK1. I don't have a speciality and am going to where possible build straight from the box. Glad to be a member!

Welcome, and thanks for bringing your 11 yr. old! We need to convince a new generation of the merits of plastic modelling.

There are a range of modellers here - from brass and resin aftermarket types to OOBs.

Hope you enjoy this site - it is a treasure.
