Hi all

My name is Mark and I am a 40+ years old modeller, there said it and it doesn't feel half bad
I started building at a young age after watching 633 squadron (About 1970-71)although I built a Blenhiem that my parents had bought me mistakenly thinking because it had two engines it was the same aircraft as in the film, but I knew different.

I carried on building up until 1979-80 when I left school and real life started, you know the sort of stuff girls, parties, jobs etc .
Anyway 25 years passed buy and I hadn't built a thing, my wife knew that I liked aircraft as I had stacks of books and dvd's about them and I used to talk about making kits when I was younger so she said "you make one of your plastic toys " .(Airfix Mig 15)

So I did, made a right hash of it, but enjoyed it.
Built a few more models and eventually joined the Airfix club and have been a member ever since.

When the Airfix club forums shut down I was invited to join the Unofficial Airfix forum where I have learnt so much over the years and where I am still learning.

I think now though that I like to build anything and not restrict myself to just aircraft.
Any Scale, Anything thing..

So I am hoping that I can contribute to this forum and hope to chat to you soon.

I will try and get a portfolio opened of some of my previous build as soon as possible.

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

Another 40+ modeller returned to the fold, it is nice to know you're not alone, isn't it? It was The Battle of Britain film that set me off, that and an unpainted blue Spitfire MKIX that my teenage neighbour gave me.

All the best

Chris

I am building at the moment so I shall be posting new builds around the forum and participating in threads once I find my way around in here and have my portfolio organized.

Hi Mark and  Welcome to the ATF, hope you enjoy it here. I take it from your signature that you're a fan of Gary Numan. (Down in the Park, IIRC.) Me too.
