Hms Montgomerry 1/600 airifx

Hello all, here i am for a new building.I started the montgomerry ,a four funnels destroyer. For this i take the old old Campeltown and like the Eskimo s building all is very very old so i decided to scratch all the ship except the hull.So i stop the blabla and show you the photos.

Super work as usual Remy!

inspires me to get back to work on the Victorious.  love the work with the greenstuff on the bridge!
orionv

In fact i prefer work in scratch than an usual building.Don t hesitate and try to make in the beginning somes minors transformations and then pull up the difficulty level...

Well Remy-I thought your model making skills were too good to be true- now the secret to your success is out at last.

hope you are treating them well- i hear dwarves like a drop or two of beer.  but don't give them too much as it makes them quarrelsome and they won't be able to do the photo-etch very well if they are seeing double
orionv

Dwarves are my friend....and i love beer in particular brown and red brown beer
My secret is very simple in fact...I don t work the morning,i start my job at 13h pm and i finsih at 21 pm so i have a lot of time to make model kits:in the morning(09h am to 11h am) and during the nigth biginning(from 22pm to 00 h).Generaly i don t make model kit during the week end because my girl friend kill me if i go in my workshop I don t do that all the time of course but i try to have a good rythme to complete my airfix naval project... So has i am passionned by naval kits it s okay for me ,i like that.It s my actual way of life...
Cheers Rémy

You bet!

(will i get to meet the Dwarves?)
orionv

No problemo, has you want... but the dwarves are very wild....
daniel7891

Superb work as usual Remy looking forward to the next installment

Aha! my suspicions were correct- an army of dwarves in the cellar. Here I am slaving away about 4 hours a night and most of Saturday and Sunday and being outbuilt. Plus he's at the beer as well- just like me! On second thoughts he's building what seems like a fleet of  little destroyers and I'm building a rather large battleship- what's the conversion rate of a battleship to how many destroyers? Maybe he's not quite as fast as I thought- see my Richelieu post.

When i ve finished my Monty built,i hope finished the Eskimo  then i started the Hotspur in his 1944 refit and so on i ll finish the airfix destroyers set.As i have another  hotspur box i want make the hms Worcester a VandW class destroyer who fitgh against the Sharnhorst...After i started the Hood warspite ark royal .................. arrrrgggg
orionv

hello the fellowship the building is near to ending, only are missing life boats and rafts, some others minors details ant the main mast and then direction the painting

T16S

Hi Remy,
that is looking very good. I like the brass etch mast- I now think your dwarves are a lazy lot and drink lots of beer and wine when you are out working and employ their microbots to do the work for them. You did say they were very wild when they had been at the beer! So I think there are little robots assembling brass bits that a bunch of drunken dwarves supervise. By the time you get home from work they are all asleep in a drunken stupor.
cheers Stuart Cheers!  Snack
ps Richelieu is nearly there the rigging is done and the propellers are on- I'll send some photos!
daniel7891

Looking good
orionv

daniel7891

orionv

Hello all here we are ,Monty's built is over now ...I don t make the airfix notice camouflage pattern but an other found in a beautifull book Naval camouflage 1914 45.The montgomerry have this sort of camo pattern during the 40 42 .I found it more colorfull than the airfix one so...

daniel7891

Great. I love the base
Richard Humm

That's a very nice model. I always like to see the Western Approaches colour scheme.

Fantastic as always Remy.   Were the 1/400 instructions useful in the end?

Remy- You've put me to shame yet again-groan! How do you do it? Masterful! I think that many people would like to know a bit more on how the effects are created especially the sea. You build full hull ships and then set them in the sea diorama. How is this done? Please give us one of your photo tutorials.
cheers Stuart

Beautiful - great work - don't forget to give the dwarves an extra keg or two of mead, Remy, they have thoroughly earned it Cheers!

congratulations on another stunning build
orionv
