Also has anyone heard of using cold tea as weathering on a boat as I read something in a model magazine. Its the one during the Falklands war. Obi-Jiff Kenobi There's a 1/700th kit by Dragon, which I believe is still available. It was previously released by Revell and Skywave/Pitroad (at least I think they're the same basic kit). I believe there was a resin/white metal kit in 1/600 by White Ensign Models, but I'm not sure, and I think it's been out of production for a while. There is also a 1/96 kit (52 inches long!) suitable for radio control: http://www.sirmarmodelships.com/showship.asp?ID=22 They also make plenty of other RN warships from the Falklands campaign. I know sirmar do the kit but I want a plastic before I start the radio version. Also I will be building the 1:96 illustrious when I have the time and money. DavidH I know that White Ensign used to do the Type 42 HMS Exeter in 1/600, but I wasn't aware of the Sheffield. The Exeter has been long out of production & I made an enquiry to White Ensign a few years ago as to whether it would be released again to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of the Falklands War. They said that there were no plans. Even if you could get hold of an Exeter, you would have to modify the funnel to have the cowls that were fitted to the Sheffield. I have the recent release of the Dragon 1/700th HMS Sheffield in my Stash. It comes with a small sheet of photo etch. The brass is a bit thick compared to other PE that I have seen.
