Hms Suffolk airfix 1/600

Hello guys, after the Hood,i started an other british cruiser.I choose to start the Suffolk,a county class cruiser .I ll make it in the 41 42 period during his escort convoy duty in the north and artic sea.The building seem more easy than the Hood... I try to make a photo report when the paint job start because the Suffolk at this time have an heavely weathered paint and i suppose you like know how i proceed to obtain this effect.

I take  these photos this morning, the work is progressing well, but after consulting the doc sent by Stuart  it appears that the basic kit need  a lot of transformations  for a suffolk  of the 1942 period. The funnels deck is wrong ,the bridge too,the shape of the stern is wrong but the rest of the kit is a very good base and the ship himself  is magnificent, I love this kind of ship, we see that they were designed to combat ...See you for the next, amitiés Rémy.

Hello the fellowship, here is more photos of the Suffolk building. The work is not easy because the ship has undergone many changes  months after months and it is hard to find the correct way...documentation helps a lot(thank Stuart ) but also tends to confuse .I  think represent the suffolk between 41 and early 42 but this is not really sure.So If anyone have more docs or infos don t hesitate and contact me...

sloop

That's going to be terrific when painted.
tempestfan

While not to everyone's taste, you should consider leaving one of your masterpieces unpainted. I think that would make your incredibly intricate work even more appreciable.
Ratch

Gentlemen, you should post your finished build pix in the Gallery
orionv

Be patient, I don t have the news paint for starting the paint job... there are problems at the post office at this time ...
