There's the v old Hasegawa one in the odd scale of 1/450 which was also boxed by Frog. You might not find it easy to track down.

Hap Dong - never heard of them and the review is worse than the Frog/Hasegawa offering!
And then there's the resin kits...

Yep, there´s the resin kits.
If you still can get one, Samek´s 1:700 Vanguard is an excellent kit. The onyl drawback I found is that the PE is very soft and hard to work with. I have built the kit with the review available at

HMS VanguardThe Hasegawa/Frog offerring is a bit basic the one I have came complete with electric motor and oversize propellor to use in the bath or pool. Recently Mad Pete Hall of White Ensign Models fame as produced a large P/E set to tart the kit up. Apart from a lack of any significant detail on the model the worst feature is the forecastle deck break it is a shocker instead of the graceful shear the vessel should have it is a sharp angled kink whichis just about impossible to conceal. If anybody wants some pics of these beast let me know and I will try to work out how to post them on the site.
