Inflammatory Posts and Trolling

Today I deleted a post that I felt that was not in the interest of the members to have remaining on the forum. In my opinion it was designed to be inflammatory or provoke a negative response from other members. It certainly wound me up and I almost took the bait and that takes some doing! It was the first sign of troll-like behaviour I have seen on this site and hopefully it is the last. I have not only deleted the post but have suspended the person for an indefinite period.

The atmosphere in these forum has been brilliant up to now and I intend to keep it running that way. A lot of us have put a huge amount of work into these forum already and it is not going to be spoilt by a minority. Trolling or posts which are against the rules of the site will, in future, lead to a straight-forward ban without a warning or suspension first. I do not want any speculation as to who the person was who made the post. That will remain a secret.

This forum has been set up following the demise of the Airfix.com forum. I would not like to see any posts that defame Airfix or any other forum and they will be deleted automatically by me. I also do not want to see posts comparing this site with Greger's site or any other site. All sites are the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of members and it does no-one any good to start comparing them. So, please refrain from doing so. Once again, I will delete post without warning.

This may have been a long time ago, but the sentiment and remedial actions still stand.
