rebirth

Hi to all, just coming back to modelling after 46 years. Been in the marines and the army, seen most of the world, married, three kids three grandkids and life has been hectic but now I,m retired and needed something to occupy my time. What better than modelling. When I was a kid there was only airfix and frog so there was only one choice really. So when I decided to try building a kit again it
was down to the hobby shop where I was lucky enough to buy the last airfix 1/48 buccaneer (I,ve always had a thing about navy jets)
If I get stuck you will find me on here yelling for help.
Richie.

Hi Richie

Welcome aboard!

The Buccaneer has a bit of a reputation, undeserved in my opinion.

Jonathan's thread has some excellent tips on putting it together

I and others have managed a passable one here

Lots of other help available should you need it.

Hi All, had to shelve the buccaneer, no I,ve not chickened out, when my son saw what I was doing he said, why not finish those in the attic. It seems that years ago my wife put all my dads stuff in there and she and the kids had gone through to see what was there, but never told me. In one box my dad had put all my old model kits., four unfinished frog and two unstarted so thats my project now, to finish of these kits which I started in about 1961. I will take some photos before and after and let you see. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, yeah I thoink I will enjoy being here, best wishes, Richie.
