Revell 1/72 U-boat down to twenty quid at Modelzone

Reduced from £50 apparently. Pretty good reduction I'd say. Modelzone are patchy - they're still doing Welcome Aboard for £19.99, which is more than Airfix themselves. I wonder if they get special terms from Revell? They are still doing the old Aurora Prehistoric Scenes models - Revell reboxings - at very cheap prices.

They benefit from Revell stock clearances.

If youve got a car head up to Modelzone in the Metro centre they had at least one on the shelves (Saturday afternoon) .

Hope you can get it .

Have you tried the MZ shop at Harrogate

Andy

Errr... many thanks for the info but Metro centre is about 100 miles from here and Harrogate about 50- the cost of diesel or petrol depending on which car I take would cancel out the saving- might as well order one at full/slight discounted price on the net. One of the penalties of living here in the sticks!
cheers and thanks Stuart

There are two in Holborn in London, so it's definitely a real offer.
Sgt.Squarehead

I reckon my train fair would bump the price right back up again!

Theres 10 in Derby. And 6 of the 1:32nd Hunters at £9.99
T16S

Guess what- I got a U-boat! Went to Ripon today to a meeting- someone there rang her hubby in Harrogate and he popped across the road and bought me a boat! Magic- now I have a corvette and a boat, so the hunter and the hunted! My friend did say that I would be in big trouble if hubby came with two of them- ie having got one for himself!
cheers -a happy Stuart
daniel7891

I will pop up and see what I can get al holborn
Beaufighter

For the avoidance of doubt the £20 one isn't the one with the box art that shows a snorkelling boat. It's the one that shows one on the surface and has "die grauen Wolfe" on the lid.

Thats right. Its the "Wolf Pack" version, not the "Atlantic" Version. That one is still £49.99.

U-Boat Modelzone ultimate bargain!!

My normal builds are WW2 aircraft, but i couldn't resist a 1/72 Revell VIIC "Wolfpack" U-Boat that i spotted in the Maidstone branch of Modelzone. This really is an impressive looking model that measures just over 3ft long! I have been looking at these on Ebay at a cost of £49.99+p&p. Imagine my surprise when i look at the price label and see reduced from £49.99 to a mere £19.99, oh yes i bought it! Modelzone still have a few of these available, i really hope i can do this model justice, problem is finding a space big enough for it to display
farmroad38

Pete, I've merged this into the existing Modelzone U-boat thread.  Please can you search for existing topics before posting?  Ta!

That will teach me to open my eyes before putting my keyboard into motion

Thanks Walrus, thats a great link. I must say i cant wait to get this kit underway, really dont know where i'll put it once its finished though. I already have a poor dusty ME323 Gigant sitting on top of a display case. I couldn't help but notice some people's faces when i was walking around town with this dirty great big U-boat box under my arm

at least it has only one axis with any great dimension, and no wings sticking out

do you have a nice big bathtub/swimming pool to play with it in?

I think the wife would have something to say if she caught me playing with it in the bath ROTFL

For anyone interested & local, the Sutton in Surrey branch had a few at the weekend. I got one when it first came out and still haven't got around to starting it.

If you think that the U Boat is big, try their Gato in the same scale. 5ft long. I have one started and it isn't the easiest thing to work on due to the size. Forever banging either the bow or stern against something when moving it. Nice kit though.
Sgt.Squarehead

Antics are doing them at £30, which actually probably works out cheaper for me than going to get one from Modelzone or having one posted!

For what it's worth & all the best

I've got mine, just want the Gato Class and the Corvette.
