Seaslug missile footage in 70s TV showThanks to being ill, I'm now exposed to the excitement of daytime TV (in small doses). Yesterday brought a real surprise in an old episode of UFO (anyone else remember it?) where they used some authentic-looking stock footage showing the loading a firing of Seaslug missile from a County Class destroyer (couldn't read the pennant number).
What an amazing piece of kit it looked - did no-one say anything to the designers about ballistic shaping?? But it did take down a target moving at Mach 5!
I also suspect that in one part of the episode one of Airfix's Devonshires was lurking in the deepest background of shot.
Great stuff
