What's wrong with this picture?

HLJ's page for the Special Edition of the Tamiya I-400 looks a little odd, doesn't it?

I see what you mean - there's no way that's 1:350 scale.  Got to be 1:700!

Well it's not a sub, is it?
Digs

It sort of is now...

And I was being deliberately obtuse!

Ayup..

Nice sub boxart below, innit?

The submarine Yamato.  The catch is that you can only submerge ONCE.

Noticed those 1:700 AFVs, too. Diorama? I don't really see how they could be in a diorama with a ship. Not those ones, anyway. It's a little too tiny for wargaming, too, I guess, unless we're talking a highly abstract strategy game.

They'd work nicely with Skywave's LCT and LST, specially since Skywave's plastic 1/700 AFVs were pretty terrible. Tamiya also did some Chi Ha and Ka Mi amphibious tanks with their IJN transport set. Building them was fun (ish).

There's plenty of stuff available for wargaming in what's known as 2mm scale, especially from Irregular Miniatures. I've always wondered what the Hobbits in their 2mm Fantasy range are like
Loll

Well no wonder our lot and the yanks couldn't find IJN submarines , just look at that for camouflage!!! .

I only ever had one of their 2mm scale WW1 tanks as a free sample, and that was ridiculously tiny.
