Thanks Jesper! There is a review of this kit here but take the remark about no putty required with a pinch of salt! It was due to this review that I chose the B-26 for this GB. (And the fact I'd never built one before)

About time I posted a quick update. The cockpit assembly is complete apart from the bombsight which I will leave off until the end to prevent it being knocked off or damaged. Tailplanes and fin have also been assembled.

A short update, all the fuselage windows have been glued in place, the cockpit and bomb bay have also been glued in. The dorsal turret tub and rear guns have been painted.

Apologies for the poor photo, weather has been really dull lately and I haven't had any decent light for taking clear pics.

I think I'm finally ready to close up the fuselage now, been a long time getting to this stage!

I've finally got the fuselage glued together, now I'm in the middle of filling and sanding the join and various sink marks.

Nice job so far BW, that really looks like a nice kit kit.

What colours are you going to paint this in?

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Denie, I'm planning on doing the first decal option of "Mild and Bitter" 452nd Bomb sqn, 332nd bomb group, which has neutral grey undersurfaces, olive drab uppersurfaces with patches of dark green overpainted. Paints I'm going to use are H64+H33 for the grey, H155 for the olive drab and H116 for the green.

Thanks Daniel!

I've made some progress with the fuselage seam and sink marks, think I've got them all sorted now they just need a final polish up. Also cleaned up the cowling intakes. I'll paint the insides of them tomorrow.

This week I've finished cleaning up the fuselage joint and sink marks, I've also assembled and painted the engines, glued them into the cowlings and added the intakes to the cowling tops.

Time for a quick progress update, the engines have now been glued to the nacelles. The clear parts for the navigation and landing lights have been glued to the wings, the gaps were filled with thin superglue then they have been sanded flush with the wings and polished up so they are nice and clear again. Finally I've painted the insides of the bomb bay and landing gear doors.

Thanks guys!

The next job will be getting the wing root joints sorted. There are smallish gaps on the underside which need filling, the topsides just need sanding level maybe run a little PVA into the joint afterwards to make it look like a panel line.

No chance of the model being completed by the finish date unfortunately.   But it will get done eventually.

Wing roots are pretty much sorted now, and I've got the tailfin and the fuselage mounted guns glued on. There is a small gap at the fin/fuselage join which I'm going to try using tippex to fill. This will be my first attempt at using this stuff as a filler, be interesting to see how it goes.

I haven't forgotten about this build! I really don't like tippex as filler, its too thin and crumbly after it has dried. I must have put 6 or 7 layers of the stuff on the tailfin/fuselage join, its just about ok now.
