It's a bit crazy really - I've started having a big clearout of kits I'll never build.  I like to keep the stash down so I don't wind up with a pile for this very reason.

I'll get back to you on this Ratch.  I think I have a mould of the MkIIa cannons somehwere amongst my 'silicon valley' - I think from memory you'll also need the MkII nosecone as well.  You'll also need to done some filling/sanding of the original '4 pack' and rescribing of cannon panels.

Gleeds 'LK-A' was finished in all-over black Ratch! It had a red bit on the nose and a large rendition of the Squadron Leaders pennant on the rudder. I have a B/W photo of this aircraft that shows it fitted with individual exhaust stacks.

The restored Hurricane in this scheme.

The other colour photo you're referring to is LK500 'Cawnpore I' IIRC. This was the mount of Squadron Leader Smallwood and is one of the schemes in the Matchbox 1/72 MkIIc kit.

Here's a pic of the LK-A Hurricane (Hawker Hurricane XII RCAF 5589 (Real Aeroplane Company))

I think the real LK-A was a IIc. But I'm not quite sure

Go on - you'd be the first to probably to a black MkII Hurricane in 1/24!

As far as I can ascertain Ratch it was the same aircraft as is depicted on the 1/24 Hurricane (P2738?) just with the day scheme overpainted and the change of exhausts. The codes and large fuselage are certainly the same.

I'll dig the photo out.

Don't know about you Ratch, but it looks to me like the canopy has been left in the day scheme.

I've just committed to building the 1:24 Spitfire 1a I have had for nearly two years unstarted and I just noticed this group build. Can I join in, although late? So far all I have done is build the engine.
