Thanks Boss

Looking at Skii's wonderful work

http://www.britmodeler.com/Skii/tsr2/finished/tsr6.jpg

The paint looks very flat and realistic, which I guess is a matt paint or a matt varnish over gloss paint, but how is the detail picked out, is that one of these washes I keep hearing about?

And how does one make the paint look so lived in?

Colin

Looks like. I'd say there was some pre-shading going on there as well, on some of the panel lines at least.

I think Skii used a variety of techniques, but kept 'em subtle

Hi All

I've been hiding from this one, fear of white paint I suspect. Work and other commitments have got in the way too, Christmas will be my next excuse.

Any tips for a quick finish?

Colin

Nearly finished, lots of fiddly bits still to do though.

Hi Andy

Don't hold your breath!
This has been dragging on because I made a complete hash of spraying  too much paint from a rattle can that was too close to the target when it was too cold. Had to scrape off most of the first attempt.

One entire can of Appliance White later it is passable, but it will never bear close scrutiny.

Still, I will finish it, then I can get back to my 1/48 Buccaneer, Jaguar, Tornado...

Finally there, a bit ragged but I'm happy, next time I'll use a camouflage scheme.
