I brought this up about a month ago and there was quite a bit of interest. What is the next step to take it to? Reading through other posts Rich has made it seems we can have many GB's running as long as they are different subjects?
Anyway I await further comments |

Could we make it a 'Nightstalkers GB' to widen the options to allow night intruder aircraft.....But no heavy bombers!
Just a thought, all the best

You can have concurrent GB's from different categories running at the same time, but not from the same category, these categories are;
Aircraft civil, aircraft military, cars/bikes/railways, diorama & figures, military vehicles, ships, space & sci-fi, specials.
A nightfighters GB would fall under Aircraft military, at the moment there is the Medium Bomber GB running and the Cold War Jets GB will run from 1/11 to 31/12. So another military aircraft GB can't be run until those are finished.
There's been some suggestions made recently for future military aircraft GB's, including;
Nightfighters.
Turboprops
Fleet Air Arm
Film & TV
Then single kit builds of the following,
Defiant
Lightning
ME 110
Swordfish
T6 Texan
It might be an idea to have another poll to see what might be a goer for the next GB.

Perhaps Rich would do the honours with another poll.....Maybe we could start with the various wider categories, versus a single kit buid, as an initial set of options?

So what are the Airfix options for a nightfighter, not very many I think. _________________ If I'm not model building, I'm dirtbike riding |

As I was thinking purely as to what Airfix has to offer OOB sarge, only the top three and the Defiant and Mosquito would qualify. BTW none of the others you list are the correct variants for nightfighters. _________________ If I'm not model building, I'm dirtbike riding |

The Dornier 217 tooling was modified to include nightfighter bits and issued as a 217J. I think these are included with the Mistel boxing if you couldn't get hold of an original.
None of the kits that the Sarge listed take a whole lot of tweaking to convert into nightfighters/intruders. This could be an encouragement for anybody who has previously baulked at converting/modifying into giving it a whirl.
The Sarge forgot the Bf109/110, labour of love that it might be to sort them out. You could also include the F4U Corsair.

Like I said I was thinking just OOB, but if there's modifications involved, you're right. I forgot about the Do.217 nightfighter, I even got one -- doh! I've got two Italeri ones too.
Then I thought of another which I have, the Javelin F.9, was originally to be a nightfighter then upgraded to all weather. _________________ If I'm not model building, I'm dirtbike riding |

| Surely the Airfix Spitfire Mk Vb wouldn't need converting to become a Nightfighter, just aftermarket decals |

By the time this build happens, there'll probably be a Ta-154 (part of the announced Mistel) as well, won't there?
