very well put together Richard

sorry if its a daft novice question, but...ive noticed on many builds that no-one adds the prop & nose while putting the fuselage together...does that mean the final kit has a removable prop & nose?

Very nice Rich, top effort. Is the white Milliput a two part product?

I always leave the prop and spinner off until I'm finished, they get in the way otherwise. This means I glue them in place so they don't rotate.

The milliput is the two part epoxy, the white is ultra fine and gives a very smooth surface finish. You can get grey and silver which are coarser in finish, but  ideal for fixing weights in place in a fuselage.

Looking great sofar.
Having read Adolf Galland's autobiography 'The First & the Last', this is a build that is of great interest.

First layer of WEM Gelb is on, looks like it might need another one or two coats.

I've also taken delivery of a couple of other items for the diorama   .

Which look horribly small and fiddly even in 1/48 scale   .

Will you be giving her yellow undersurfaces, as seems common on captured a/c flown by either side, or will she be the full Luft-Monty

I'm doing a standard luftwaffe scheme as featured on Galland's Bf.109, the only addition being the yellow wingtips which were seen on some of JG26's 109s and on this aircraft to aid recognition. The reason being that this Spitfire was flown with an operatonal group, rather than an evaluation/familiarisation unit, hence the desire to make it look as similar to the unit's 109s as possible.

Looking very good so far Rich. Just a word of warning, the Tamiya 11CV is a very nice kit, you might be wanting more of them after the build

Ayup All...

Pity you can't get a 1/48th Hs123 either... can you?

Edit: Italeri 1/48th...

Not much time for modelling at the moment. The WEM Gelb is a nice colour, but very translucent, I've applied a third coat, but it's looking like it's going to need at least another one.

While I'm waiting for the gelb, I put together the Kettenkraftrad and power generator. Both beautifully done, with small sprue gates and great fit - I was struggling to stay awake, thank goodness the generator cover needed some filler!

When the glue is set, I'll spray everything with Hu67, including the tracks and wheels.
