My build will be the Danish Air Force’s Short Skyvan X4.
The airplane was a custom development from the standard aircraft, with the enhanced capability of longer flight time and extreme STOL capabilities.
It was used as a fishing control / ambulance aircraft around the Faroe Islands in the years 1975-2000.

All the best from Jesper.

That looks cool! Are you going to stretch the body?

I don't know yet. I just wait and se how easy/hard it will be.
It looks easy enough, but I don’t have the fuselage from a second kit, just the wings and motors.

All the best from Jesper.

I think the fuselage will remain unchanged.

But with the extra pair of wings I have in my spare box, I think the final aircraft will be a little like an Antonov AN-2
If I can find a satisfying way to add the extra wings, without doing to much damage to the overall purposeful look.

A drawing update will follow soon.

All the best from Jesper.

I think this is how my Skyvan are going to look when finished:

- / + Some details like a big radar or rescue equipment. Who knows?

All the best from jesper.

I’m really enthusiastic to get started, but my common sense says to get at least 2 of the 3 GB models I’m building at the moment done before I start this one.
So I think it will take a couple of weeks before I start this one.

All the best from Jesper.

I couldn’t resist any longer.

I dug out my Skyvan.

Just to look at the frames.

I certainly do not want to cut more than a few parts.

And only a tiny amount of gluing.

I haven’t started to glue yet  Angel . But I can give you a little in the box review.

Whole kit looks really good; with clean, crisp details without too many hard to remove ejector pin marks.
The part layout is good but some of the bigger parts are a little skew and needs to be straightedge before use.

More to follow...

All the best from jesper.

This is the kit I’m using to make the Skyvan Bi-X4.
As I have mentioned, I have also a set of wings and motors from a model scraped many years ago.

My progress so far:

The seats are from my plastic scrapyard. I know they are ejector seats,
and it is most unlikely a Skyvan would ever be equipped with a pair of those,
but they looked more military to me.

Some more seats from my scrapyard, I think they are from an Airfix Puma, but I’m not sure.
The floor is covered with a piece of tape with this nice pattern, and the ribbing on the sidewalls is made with masking tape.

I have also assembled the motors, and painted the rudders orange.

All the best from jesper.
