I’m working on my Skyvan at the moment.
I have now assembled the fuselage and modified the wings, and are waiting for the tail assembly to harden.

A little later:

The easy part in this project is to modify the parts.
The assembly of the fuselage and tail is one of the most demanding tasks I can remember in any model ever.
I think it explains why I had abandoned an earlier Skyvan just after I glued the fuselage together.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an excellent model with nice and crisp parts.
It is just not easy to make the box shaped fuselage square, when you need to glue and align many parts at the same time. And the same goes for the tail.

I will never recommend this kit to a beginner. I think you have to have some experience with quick drying superglue,
or a way to make a jig to get the alignment perfect to really appreciate this model.
Otherwise it’s just too frustrating to make.

But I'm nearly there, with a smooth ride up-ahead (I hope)

Does anybody have any recent experience with this kit, and what is your opinion?
I really love this kit, but it’s a tough challenge to make.

All the best from Jesper.

Thats looking great Jesper.
Did you use any sprue or card as spars for joining the the wing sections?

No, the wings are the normal length.
It is just the outer motors (the ones nearest the red tips) who are added.
The shorter wings will be used as the second pair in my bi-plane configuration.

I don’t know yet how I’ll do the bracing but I think it will be close to my drawing.

All the best from Jesper.

Deadline came and went without me finishing my project.
I haven’t given up, just working at speed zero at the moment because of some kind of flu draining all my energy.

I will be back when I have something new to show.

All the best from Jesper.

Really coming together! With the four engines and the thimble nose it looks a bit like a C-130's pup!

Finally, and only 2½ month late, I will consider my what-if Short Skyvan Bi-X4 finished.

I will take some better pictures when I have the time and sunlight again.

All the best from Jesper.

That is first class! Well done. The weathering on the fuselage is nicely done.
