Here's the latest progress on my Canberra. With a bit of luck and god willing she'll be ready for Hinckley on Sunday.

There are a couple of panels on then underside of the wings that need painting in HU29 I forgot about these and after a bit of tricky masking I managed to get these areas sprayed ok without getting HU29 everywhere. I've just realised I need to spray a panel on the top in HU29 as well.

Tip Time  Cling Film provides a very quick way for masking large areas when painting. I ended up covering the whole model with the stuff when I forgot to paint the engine turbine faces in alclad.

I have given the model a coat of  Humbrol Glosscote unfortunately it's not as gloss as I would have liked but I hope the decals go on ok without too much silvering.  I have started to apply all the decals and I'm in for a long haul because there are loads of tiny stencils on the canberra. I'm using Model Alliance decals for the main marking s ut the Stencils from the Airfix Decal sheet which seem to be going on ok so far. The most difficult stencil to apply was the fuselage band and the roundels making sure they were all lined up perfectly. It took a lot of manipulation to get it all into place.

I've also added some lights to the wingtip tanks which I made from stretched clear sprue.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I must admit I find adding all those tiny stencil decals a very tedious task indeed.

I've added a few more decals but have hit a bit of a snag. As the Model Alliance decal sheet doesn't include all the stencils I've been using the ones from the kit sheet.

These have been ok for the ones I've added so far. However I've encountered problem where some of the yellow stencils.

They look ok on the sheet but when they are added to the model they only seem to have part of the white backing printed under the decal and this looks to be out of register so they look a bit messy.

I was toying with the idea of living with them but have decided to order the Model Alliance Stencil Data Sheet. I'll add the rest of the stencils when the sheet eventually turns up from Hannants.
