That canopy framing is spot-on, Ron... amazingly neat...

do you spray a bit of transparent decal sheet? Or seal it with anything? I've tried this approach, but the painted strips kept breaking up... must learn the secret...

If you're fitting the bomb, there is a filling piece, the torpedo itself slots into the gap otherwise

Most of the decals are on now.
Soon be time to attach the wings and undercarriage.
Then final details like aerial mast, sight in the front canopy, torpedo, arrestor hook etc.
The TECHMOD decals have certainly brightened up the model.
Some of the smaller decals ( you need a magnifying glass to read them!) were very fragile and I 'lost' one or two whilst putting them on.
Note for those using TECHMOD decals: they do not require long in the water to make them moveable. About 10 seconds!l
But they are in excellent register and the colours are very good.

Soon be done now.
Thanks for looking in.
Happy and Peaceful NewYear to all.
Ron.

Ayup Ron...

Wow...

And the wings aren't even on !

I love the way you obviously know they're gonna fit perfectly when you put them on... what you gonna use? Liquid poly?

Hi Stu,
I've got the wings on now. The fit at the top is pretty good and then there is that nice black decal for the wing root on the TECHMOD sheet which will help to disguise any defects. On the underside there is the problem with the flaps which extend into the wing root. A wee bit of filler here and touching up with Hu27001 might solve this.
The model looks good with the wings on. Perhaps in the next day or two the model will be finished and displayed here. With the after market decal sheet the AIRFIX Devastator does make into a very colourful model. But like many AIRFIX kits of its vintage a little tender loving care is needed.!
Thanks for your interest.
Ron.

Nearly done now.
Just a few minor details tomorrow and it'll find its way into the display cabinet.
Tonight here are two views (more later)

Hope you like it?
Thanks for looking in.

Very nice Ron!  I'm impressed that you've got such a wonderful finish putting the wings on at the end.  I know if I did that it would definitely all go horribly wrong!
