Owen has been a naughty boy and has yet to start - I shall get round to it soon, I promise! Nailbiting

Things are now slowly moving - all the interior is now in H80, with the basic cockpit drying off too

Ah, that does help

I'm building a 1/48 Corsair, which I picked up in Telford for £6 last year.

Apologies for lack of updates/photos, I've been very busy recently.

Things are slowly taking shape - the cockpit, fuselage and wings are now altogether.

Time for a few photos at last!

The tailplanes, engine nacelle and drop tank have all been added/constructed:

The Canopy has been masked. The cockpit detail isn't overwhelming as the canopy is quite thick.

The tailplane and engine cowling joints have been masked and filled:

I really have been slogging behind with this one - my apologies. Exams are starting next week so this any modelling is at the bottom of the list at the moment.

However, I have for the first time in a good month been in the shed today and got this sprayed up in H1 Primer as a break from Revision.

Thanks Walrus!

As a deviation from revision, I've also done a bit more on this today. The airbrush has been given a bit of excersise and I had a crack at preshading (All previous attempts at the technique have never worked due to the top coat being too heavy - I'm curious to see what I can make of it) and the bottom surfaces have been sprayed H90.

I'm going to experiment with this build and try not to mask off the uppersurfaces and freehand the camo instead. It seems to take so long, and the results are often hit and miss. When preshading, the airbrush seemed to cope with quite a fine spray of about 3mm which had a satisfactory soft edge to it. I'm hoping that this will also bring out some of the preshading underneath. With this being a seagoing aircraft I'd quite like to make it look a bit rough and ready.

Pictures will be up in good time

All camo is now sprayed up, it was interesting spraying the uppersurfaces without masking, I shall be interested to see the outcome - the H102 went on a little thicker than the H28.

At long last - photographic evidence of progress!

The paint job is done, and I've got a couple of coats of Klear on. I'm not sure when I'll be able to decal it, as this really is a distraction from revision!

A bit of preshading has shown through - but spraying freehand does give (IMO) slightly overscale blending between camo.

Cheers,
Owen

All decals and markings were applied yesterday evening and this morning, and then sealed with a coat of Klear:

And with a light wash to get into the panel lines, the whole thing has been sprayed in a Klear/Tamiya Flat Base mix to dull down everything and give it a weathered look:

Job done! I'll get photos up when It's light!

All done!

Overall, an enjoyable build. It was a good chance to apply some new techniques like preshading and using Flat Base to weather it down a bit.
