Fea - what exactly is admissible for the build? Looking back through the discussion about whether to do it or not, at one point it was spoken of as a locomotive build. Are other bits and bobs of the Airfix/Dapol railway range OK too? Alone, or in conjunction with a loco perhaps?
Cheers
Paul
PS I don't suppose I'll be allowed to get away with a Kitmaster boxing of City of Truro... |

Ayup Digs...
Unless the Rail Guru (Owen) Overrules me, as GB Leader, I would say that ANYTHING Airfix/ Dapol is allowed.
Whether it be a Loco, and/or 'Accessories'. for example, I intend to Build the 'Evening Star' Loco with a coupla wagons, as a Loco needs summink to pull, don't it ?
As i'm not an expert on the Rail stuff, personally i would say it's ok to build anything produced for it including Buildings, if that's what you wanted to know.... I shall read my Arthur Ward (spit) book, and see what I can find... _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

I'd say go with anything - same as before
I've got a box of bits I picked up off Dave which I'd like to plough through and I'm planning on building half a dozen 16T Minerals too _________________ Owen

Ayup All...
I've just been looking at the Dapol website, and as long as the Star and a wagon or two fits ok, i'm gonna build it on the Airfix Turntable. It should go on a nice round Base i have...
Whaddaya think? Or maybe an 'Industrial' vignette, running over one of the steel bridges?
I should make it pulling a Freight car or two, as that's what it was designed for, but the pull of a passenger car does it for me too... I'd like a 'Grimy' Industrial scene. maybe pulling into a station. And As the wheels aren't designed to turn, i'm gonna abandon the 'Moving Wheels' notion too... _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Just to confirm what has been stated; as with the previous Rail GB, any Airfix rail stock or accessories qualify whether they be in Airfix or Dapol packaging and further, in line with other GB's, any conversion must be based on 50%+ Airfix original
Hope that's clear enough _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

I have a few "bagged" kits for which I don't know the providence. The way I see it, if the kit parts are the same, what does it matter?
I'd be in this with an Airfix Brake Van, but I don't have instructions for it. Can anyone help? Most of it looks straightforward but there are some small parts that I'm not sure about, and I'm not sure if it comes with scale AND working couplings. The working couplings, I'm sure it comes with. |

Ayup Digs...
As with the Heller boxing of the de havilland Rapide, i think it needs an airfix box. _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

No stretching the boundaries lads
Bruce, I don't have any wagons, but IIRC they have the three-link scale couplings for static display and the 'Buckeye' type coupling to run on your model railway/railroad
Ratio wagons also have these options _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here
