Ta!

Anyway, first component of my build is pretty near finished - just waiting for some screw couplings to replace the plastic jobs.  The decals were partly the kit originals (cut down, on the guess that BR would have stuck an extra digit on front of the old LMS number when they inherited it) and partly from Fox.

The running gear goes round, but not terribly freely.

A nice little kit to build, all in all.  I'll post final pics in the gallery once the couplings are fitted.

Ayup Paul...

Your Pug looks really NICE. Those brass rails really make it STAND out.

She looks real workaday, with Jaunty red Buffers to round it off.

Well done. A real Ivor !

Very nice Paul  Clapping

LMS locos had 4 added to the front
LNER had 6, SR had 3 and GWR retained their original numbers without addition

Next kit in this build finished - the line side accessories:

Well, almost finished - the Coal Office should have lettering to that effect on the ridge board.  The Airfix instructions had two copies printed on it, ready to cut out and stick on.  The Dapol version does too, but like the rest of the old Airfix sheet, helpfully reduced about 50 %   I'll get round to printing some home made ones before the final photos are taken.

I'd said I do some rolling stock too: slight change of plan in that I've managed to acquire a tanker off Ebay.  This is the state of play so far:

Thanks Stu!

Hu29 from a rattle can, aimed lightly along the base of the Coal Office, then both huts got two washes with diluted brown then green oil paint, then a final once over with a Tamiya make-up kit.

And here's another build finished, bar the couplings:

This was a really nice little kit to put together.  I used some metal wheels instead of the kit's, otherwise OOB.

And then the final kit I'll do for this GB (if the gods still allow...) is finishing off a signal box kit that (ahem) might have had a small amount of work done on it before the start date.

Like gluing the walls and floor together.  Trivial really.

Anyway - it's Oakham signal box, of which there are many photos on the net.  The big problem with the kit is that the windows are vastly simplified, giving it a very different appearance to the real thing.  So in partial remedy of this, I've added central dividers out of microstrip and added in the internal panelling that blocks off the lower part of the front window panes:

I don't think my patience will stretch to adding the missing horizontal bars though.

Oh yes.  I have a nice set of whitemetal castings ready to go.

Does this count as permission then?

Ayup Paul...

Looks like  'Da Man' has spoken    I think I need to get a shimmy on with my Loco. Mind you, I do have something on order to go with it...

I spent all yesterday afternoon cleaning Gunk out of Airbrush Nozzles...  so at least now i CAN spray in peace...

BTW, on topic (!) your plans for the Signals box sounds good. I like the additions to the windows.

I've been making slow progress on this - exterior painting more or less complete now:

A complete mix of paints - Humbrol cream and Revell white enamels, along with Lifecolor Burnt Sienna acrylic for the walls.  The roof was sprayed in Humbrol dark grey acrylic and then whenever I had a pot of a grey or grey green paint open a few slates got picked out.

Now for the glazing.
