As Spudgun told me I need to get cracking so I did tonight. I had a rare evening free from work commitments so here's how I got on.
It's one of these that I'm building. I hope to ultimately make it a part of the Modern Airfield diorama set since it looks more appropriate as a companion to the harrier than a scorpion tank.
The parts are quite clean without a lot of flash or sink marks.
I do have one problem though. I'm sure there is something wrong here...
I got to work with the poly cement and here is day one's progress...

Cheers Tim, your build inspired me to go ahead and build this. It is a nice little no-fuss kit (a bit of therapy after my 1/24 scale Spitfire ) _________________ Airfix Club member |

Here's today's progress. I've painted the chassis using a H30 rattle can and touching up with a brush as necessary. I've also been rebuilding the faulty drive shaft which was twisted out of shape on the sprue. I cut off the twisted portion and produced a replacement length from some spare parts on the sprue. It looks okay, just needs shortened by a few mm tomorrow. The new drive shaft length sits below the chassis in this photo.
I also finished the paint on the main cab body and coated the transparency in three coats of Klear. I'll mask the transparent part tomorrow.
Tank and pump assemblies are complete and painted H30.

Ayup MacTeagle...
Nice work. It does seem that they're very theraputic to build. and there's a reasonable amount of detail there too... _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Cheers feanor. This kit certainly is easier than the big Spit'!
So far it's a simple process: cut the parts off the sprue, stick together, paint, no filler and only a little sanding on one seam! I'm at the trickiest part now though: I need to mask that cab glazing. _________________ Airfix Club member |

Here's the progress to date:
All the parts are painted H30, black camo pattern to be added next. I've also completed the majority of the fine detail.
I was thinking about building some wing mirrors and indicator stalks for the side of the cab. The boxart has both of these details and I think it will help complete the look. _________________ Airfix Club member |

Here's the cab with the mirrors and indicators on short stalks. These have been based on internet images of Bedford MKs and Lincolnlanc's tips on producing mirror mounts from staples.
The mirrors are made from old part id tabs from some spare sprue. The indicators were sculpted down from those little circular lumps that you get on sprue.
I've never tried anything like this before. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Ayup Mac T...
Good scratch ! I especially like the 'Indicators' and your Mirror mounts are nice and delicate too. Well done.
I think it would have taken me a few goes to get there! _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Thanks for all the kind comments!
Black camo has been added. Very close to being finished now.
All that remains is to paint the remaining lights red and orange, fit the extinguishers and add the decals.

Last paint details added and decals added with Microset and Microsol treatments. I also gave the cab windows another coat of Klear.
The mirrors have small rectangles of Easter egg foil superglued on. This looks more convincing than H11 paint. I also gave the wheel arches, tyres and underside a bit of weathering with rust, earth brown and silver dry brushing. I left the upper body work clean since I expect this sort of equipment would have been kept tidy looking.
I'll do a coat of Mattcote and take some proper photos for the gallery tomorrow.
