The boxing I received from Colin contains the decals for the following versions.

G-BOAF British Airways 1997
G-BOAC British Airways 1988

I have not decided which one to use yet as with so few of us in the GB it would be nice not to have repeats of the same reg and livery.

It will be built wheels up and displayed in flight due to space limitations at home.

Thanks Colin. I shall be giving it a quick undercoat tonight if my new paint brushes turn up from Airfix.

I sanded the seam lines the best I could and also the doors as they are not the best fit.

With my new number 12 brush from Airfix I have started on the undercoat. Me thinks two things.

1 My sanding is rubbish and I need to do a bit more especially around the doors.
2 I'm going to need a lot more of white paint !

With the same paint I only needed to brush one coat onto my Buccaneer S1. I think 3 or 4 for Concorde.

Having rescued my diorama base from the weather, I commenced sanding for another time. I am going to undercoat the undercoat but this time I'm going to use a grey colour instead of White. I sometimes use HU1 but it would take until August to dry so I'll use xtracrlic Light Slate Grey.

Repainted the undercoat RAF Lt Slate Grey which has come out Green !
Terrible brush strokes - I think my paint brush is broke

Although the white now applies better on this darker undercoat.

I am using xtracrylic white which is less gloopy than the humbrol acrylic whites.

why not try gently buffing back your undercoat with fine sandpaper and then shooting a couple of coats of spray paint from a can.....I seem to recall others using 'Halfords Glacier White' or some such thing.

I used Halfords Appliance White on my TSR2, others favour some of the car whites.

Whichever you choose, if you go down that route, use only in a well ventilated space with a proper spray mask. Halfords do one for around £27. The fumes are very dangerous otherwise,

Shake well, apply several light coats, over several sessions, don't worry about covering everthing in one go.

As I remeber Slate grey is a sort of Green colour. I used it on my BF109 and I thought it was odd at the time and I believe Posted a question about it on here.

Having considered a What If Derelict PIA Concorde left at Karachi airport, I continued paint testing on the tail. Once the fourth coat of White is applied it looks a lot more acceptable.

Hi Tom

I've not used xtracrylics but with Humbrol and Revell equivalents a few drops of water and a good stir helps reduce the gloop.

Its laughing at me from the corner of the room saying you can't paint white, you can't paint white!
I think more hairy stick action tonight with a white tub of paint!
