July 1 is Canada Day, a public holiday, and I'll start my builds then. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

Does anyone have any decent pix of the seatbelt arrangement
I'm guessing they were four straps attached to the seat with a circular clasp, but which strap was it fitted to _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

There is a triangular fastener that attaches to the fuselage bulkhead behind the pilot's seat. For some reason, you will see a lot of models built showing these triangular bits up on the rear deck. This may show off the PE nicely, but it's wrong. Refer to the Fw 190 youtube link I posted.
The shoulder straps hung vertically, and were located close together, maybe 200mm apart.
The lap belts were typical lap belts. I can't recall seeing a circular thing. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

The circular clasp was a guess on my part I'd have thought there was some sort of quick-release arrangement
Thanks for the help Bruce, it doesn't sound too complicated (and I did check out the youtube links) _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

The only "quick release" thing that I know for sure of was the explosive canopy jettison device, which was indicated by the red "explosive device warning" placard (reads "ACHTUNG! blah blah blah") below the headrest on those models so equipped. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

| I think the first week has been a great success with many builds underway and a good selection of scales and schemes. |

| Not specifically an FW190 question, but what does "Trop" mean in the designation of many aircraft? |

"Trop" means "Tropicalized".
Depending on the sort of a/c, it might mean airconditioning for the pilot (e.g. Hawker Tempest II) but usually it refers to bigger, better air filters for the engine (e.g. "Aboukir" filter for Hurricanes and Spitfires), and there may be other things, too, such as dinghy stowage, etc etc. Minor things, mostly. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |
